As I have written before, in July my friend (whose name I am not going to reveal) invited me for a nice luxurious stay at the Hotel Aguas de Ibiza in Santa Eulalia. People accustomed with Ibiza in high season know how difficult it sometimes is to get a restaurant reservation. You need to plan well in advance. One of the restaurants I wanted to go to was Atzaro. This place is well known for its society weddings and you will understand why when you arrive there. The gorgeous gardens full of ponds, the terraces with dimmed lights, flowers everywhere, and a style Ibiza meets the far east, a truly romantic setting and perfect for couples in love. I hoped that the setting rubbed of some its romantic vibrance on us. Starting our little evening with a glass of champagne, making a toast on the two fabulous weeks ahead of us. The menu has a nice offer in healthy gastronomical dishes and the wine list offers wines from all over the world, from affordable to expensive. Red wine during summer is a bit too heavy for me and since I drink Rueda wines on a daily basis, our waiter suggested an Albariño wine from the North of Spain, perfect for all sorts of fish.
I ordered as a starter scallops with avocado and citrus dressing. I just cannot say no to scallops, what can I say. As a main dish wild grilled sea bass with vegetables. Really tasteful and healthy and I think and hoped low in calories, also a bit important in Ibiza since you spend a lot of time in your swimming wear at the beach. Well all in all a really nice dinner, did the romantic setting helped, not really, but that should not withhold you for trying this fantastic restaurant.
